Un Día (One Day) is a bilingual short that follows three womyn from different generations. Blending narrative and documentary styles, it's a portrait film. Lola, a teenager in Cuba, Oneida, a senior citizen in exile in Miami, Priscilla a 33 year old Cuban-American visiting Cuba for the first time. Separated by an ocean and the wall of politics, do the challenges and dreams they experience on a daily basis unite these three strangers that come from opposite spectrums? For her directorial debut, writer/director Priscilla Marrero will bring artists from Cuba and the USA together. Her hope is for this story to help bridge the gaps between our divided nations. The film will be shot in Havana and Miami, with post-production in NYC.

Un Día es un corte montaje bilingüe que sigue a tres mujeres de diferentes generaciones. Mezclando estilos narrativos y documentales, es una película de retratos. Lola, una adolescente en Cuba, Oneida, una persona mayor en el exilio en Miami, Priscilla, una cubana estadounidense de 33 años que visita Cuba por primera vez. Separadas por un océano y el muro de la política, ¿los desafíos y sueños que experimentan a diario unen a estas tres extrañas que vienen de espectros opuestos? Para su debut como directora, la escritora / directora Priscilla Marrero reunirá a artistas de Cuba y Estados Unidos. Su esperanza es que esta historia ayude a cerrar las brechas entre nuestras naciones divididas. La película se rodará en La Habana y Miami, con postproducción en Nueva York.

WHY is it important for us to make this film?

I believe it is the moment to create a bridge for our Cuban family, friends and sisters and brothers across the world. Our generation of Cuban Americans are curious about their family history, the land where we are from. I believe this film can help offer some light and offer a moment for us to connect to this origin.
